Rivne Academic Regional Puppet Theater, Rivne, UKRAINE
The history of the Puppet Theater began back in 1975, when the Rivne Region Executive Committee decided to establish it. However, for several years there was a troupe under the direction of Tatiana KUROVSKA, including Iryna BURKA, Oleksander SKIDAN, and Ivan PROTSYUK, under the direction of the Regional Philharmonic Society. They are among the first actors of the theater, as well as Andriy SEMENENKO, Yakiv VAKULYNSKY and several of their associates. Andriy SEMENENKO became the chief director, Yakiv VAKULYNSKY was the manager, Vitaly MELNYCHUK became the chief designer. They were talented personalities in the puppetry art in Rivne region and served the theater faithfully for dozens of years ahead.
Nowadays the theater is distinguished by a high level of creative activity. Young actors have joined, new productions have appeared, which have made the repertoire more interesting and varied. Experienced masters who are well known and loved by the audience also work in the theater: Honored Artists of Ukraine including Alla CHERUKHA, Francheska BARABASH, Oleksander SHYLO, Stanislav LOZOVSKY and Andriy KUDELIA. In total, the company consists of 22 artists. According to theater critics assessments, the company has every reason to be considered a theater of great creative potential and can work fruitfully in all areas of contemporary art.
